CIPD Student Stories: Maisie Beck | CIPD Level 3 Review

Maisie followed her dream of developing her HR career by studying a CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice. Here's her story. 

My name is Maisie Beck, I work for Alliance Medical as an HR Administrator. I am currently studying the CIPD Level 3 Foundation Certificate in People Practice through ICS Learn.

I joined Alliance Medical in 2018 as an Administrator at a static unit, I had previously worked on the external bank for 2 years.

Shortly into my role I applied for the opportunity to work in HR on a Business Apprenticeship scheme as an HR Administrator.

Although I loved working at the static unit a career in HR was dream and Alliance Medical has given me the chance to develop my skills and knowledge through an apprenticeship.

I haven’t been with the company long but I thoroughly enjoy working within the HR team and communicating with new people on a daily basis, so when the opportunity came up I was more than pleased.

Although at first I was nervous about online learning, the ease of the ICS portal soon erased any worry. Working online has allowed me to work on my assignments from my home at any time and has also allowed me to be able move at my own speed.

I am currently coming to the end of my course and I have learnt so much through the materials provided for the course and have found whenever I have needed extra support my tutors have always willing supported me to get through.

Once I have completed the course with ICS, I hope to move to the next stage in my career and keep progressing through HR and this qualification will be able to support me on my journey.

I am also considering completing my next qualification: a CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in People Management.

I would recommend ICS Learn to students who want to be in control of their education but also have the support they will need to complete their qualification.
