AAT Student Stories: Hannah Milford | AAT Level 2 and 3 Combined Course

Hannah wanted to leave the world of sales for more job security post her career break. With some knowledge and experience in accounting, she enrolled on the AAT Level 2 and level 3 Combined Course.

Many years ago, I did an AS Level in accounting but never put the skills into practice having fallen into a sales career.

Following a career break to have my three children I didn’t want to return to the uncertainty of a sales job, so I aimed to reignite my interest in accounts by taking on a role doing purchase ledger administration.

Following this and another role after that, I had gained a substantial amount of industry experience and thought it would be best to increase business efficiency and optimisation - through an accounting qualification. 

After doing some research, I chose ICS Learn due to their 100% online learning option, as I'm currently studying along side working full time and with family commitments.

I was keen to refresh my skills and basic understanding of the principles of accounting, with it being 20 years since I last looked at double entry bookkeeping.

I'm enjoying my course so far and aim to further my knowledge by eventually enrolling on my AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting.

I'm sure this will help me progress further within the business as well as broadening the opportunities available to me in the future.

Being a single parent I needed as much flexibility as possible. ICS is working really well for me and the online portal is easy to navigate.

My tutor is really friendly and helpful and I feel like I can comfortably achieve the qualifications within the time limits set.

I’m looking forward to completing the course and taking on the next challenge.
